Quality of Air in Western Skies

The article "Quality of Air? That's as Murky as Western Sky" is from NYtimes.com and is written by Kirk Johnson. Lately, there have dust storms all over the Western side of America and is now starting to effect the water faucets in Los Angeles, the public health in Utah, and even tourism. Due to global warming and climate change. more and more stable soil is now starting to loosen up. Researchers are saying that because of off road vehicles and the drought's impact, it is starting to cause dust to rise up and move around. The dusts main source is said to be coming from the Colorado Plateau. Over the last couple of years, the number of winter dust storms have increased, which affects the rate of melting snows into the Colorado River. This is very dangerous because that is the main water source for more than 20 million people. Also, dust storms carry chemicals too, such as iron oxides. This article is extremely important because dust storms are just one of the many risks that come from global warming and from a simple climate change, many people's lives can be put into danger.
